This job posting is at the request of the employer's daughter, who lives in Australia.
We welcome applications from caregivers or nurses, both in Canada and Japan, who have experience working with people with dementia. Also, as the employer's daughter speaks English more than Japanese, we require applicants who can converse in English and write work reports in English.
Applications should be sent to the daughter's email address: ikuzicare@gmail.com
I am looking for a Japanese-speaking carer (Care Aide or Nurse) to visit my mom (Japanese) 3 times per week at Willow Pavillion (VGH).
Ideally 3 hours per visit from around 11am to 2pm on Sat/Sun/Mon but there is some flexibility with days/times. I am also looking for someone to cover as many days as possible during the month of August.
My mom is 79 and has advanced dementia. She will likely be a patient at Willow Pavilion for another few months, with the goal of getting her into a long term care facility. She understands both English and Japanese but it is easiest to communicate with her in Japanese.
The main tasks for the carer are companionship, engaging her in conversation, encouraging her to eat and take her medication, as well as assisting with grooming, bathing and toileting, if needed.
Please reply to this posting if you are interested. Experience with dementia patients is strongly preferred.
