3 1/4 cups milk 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 3 eggs
Preheat oven 325°F. Scald milk with sugar and salt. Before boil take off from the heat. Stir in vanilla extract. Stir slowly into beaten eggs. (Whisk if you want) Strain into custard cups which have been set in a shallow pan. Pour in enough hot water to reach almost up to top of the cups. Bake for 30 min until custard tests done.
