Ossu many Japanese in Toronto are too shy to meet us gaijin... You have to be patient to find someone who is nice. If it’s anything like here a lot of them are not looking for language exchange - they are looking more for a boyfriend. I know, I have seen it myself.
Good luck, ganbatte kudasai

[Second Email] Hi, yes i did receive your reply. You sounded like a gentleman. I know quite lots of western guy back in Japan. But they were not too nice to me, especially those American Army people..... Anyway I wanna see you soon. I really would like to exchanege language with you. The thing is that I do not have much time left here in canada. My working visa will expire in two monthes so I want to see you as soon as possible. I live in metrotown area so it will be great if you can come down and see me somewhere close by. Coffee shop will be a great place to introduce ourself at first time, don’t you think? Please give me a reply. I willl be waiting for that. Thank you very much. ___________________
So, I send my contact info, but after 1 week no reply. I send some emails, wondering if she is ok... and this is what I get in reply...
[email 3] Will you stop sending me a mail? You are LOSER big timw!!! Get a life. _______________
Go figure... I guess not every Japanese person out there is nice. Ryoko, you are a pretty terrible person. I guess it’s best we didnt meet if you are like this.
Just a heads up to fellow canadians - be careful, not everyone out there is worth contacting.
Nevertheless, I remain hopeful that I may meet someone nice here... despite having a real lack of that kind of person here!
