家賃を滞納するで、fall behind with the rent という言い方は実際にしますか？
それとも、もっと口語的な言い方があるのでしょうか？

名詞だと、Late payment が普通の言い方ですが、よく、billなんかに、Late payment charge とか書かれています。これは、滞納料の意味です。
ほかには、滞納したときに、I paid my rent 3 days behind.
なんて言い方してました。動詞としての
滞納する。という意味で、fall behind with the rent と言っているのは、きいたことがありません。でも、これは辞書かなにかで見たのでしょうか？ 　

fall behind with the rent という言い方は実際にありますよ。でもイギリス英語のフォーマルな言い方ではないかと思います。北米ではあまり聞かないかもしれませんね。

in arrear

ex; your payment is in arrears.

or

delinquent, delinquency
