たとえば I like a cat. と I like cats. I bought a pair of thirty-dollar shoes.

I understand why I don’t need ”the’,but I feel I have to put ”a” and make this sentence ”a pare of..” Res 1 said it is IPPANTEKI Na Mono but I don’t feel so...(simply I can’t type in Japanese)
