水道水が茶色く濁るのは、細かいシルトって言う砂です。キャピラノやシーモアの貯水場や川にある汲水場に、雨で流された土砂が流れ込むからだそうです。(森林伐採なども土砂が流れる込むのに、影響してるみたいす・・)

What could cause the water to have a taste/odour?
The City’s water is only treated with chlorine for the purposes of disinfection. Sometimes, especially in the summer, it has a slight “musty” taste/odour. It is rarely detected in cold tap water, but may be noticeable in warmer water. This is caused by the growth of algae in the reservoirs. The taste/odour is not a health concern.
If you are sensitive to this slight taste/odour, try keeping a jug of cold tap water in the refrigerator for drinking and cooking. A carbon filter can also be used to remove the taste/odour.
