撮影は4月中旬より約2週間予定されていて、映画は全て英語ですが日本人同士の会話シーンが入ります。
本格的に演技をされた経験のある方が望ましいですが、学生時代演劇部だった方や演劇のクラスをとったことのある方も大歓迎です。
メインキャラクターのNaomiは英語も流暢な方を募集しています。
Naomi, female 22-26, Japanese. She is a petite young woman with limited English communication skills from a small town in Japan who is insecure about life in the city so she seeks refuge in the safety of the apartment she shares with her boyfriend, Will. As she is forced to start exploring the world outside their apartment, she becomes more confident and discovers independence.
YOKO, FEMALE 20- 28, JAPANESE. Naomi’s sister a young woman with limited English communication skills from a small town in Japan who is very secure about herself and have an outgoing character. She is in the city for holidays visiting a pen pal she met in the internet.
TOMO, MALE 26- 32, JAPANESE. He is an attractive man who has been living in canada for a few years and got his degree at UBC. He likes winter sports and watching hockey, he is showing the city to Yoko a pen pal he met on the internet.

Steam Clock Productions Ltd. and Femonema Films are shooting an independent feature length film in April and I want to invite you to our casting session taking place in Gastown on Fed. 27th (Sunday). The film will be scripted, but the right actors for the parts will have a flare for improvisation.

SHOOTING DETAILS:
We are planning to go into production the middle of April, and shoot for 15 days.
We are casting 7 lead rolls (expect 4-8 days on set) and about 20 minor rolls (expect 1-2 days on set).
VANCOUVER TALES (working title)
SYNOPSIS:
Strained romances become volcanic for 5 people when the added stress of bed bugs passed from one person to another, topsides their comforts instigating them to question their lives and relationships.
LEAD CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:
Steven, male 25-30 years of age. An arrogant photographer who grew up in Toronto. Steven is currently doing photo shoots for a sex-phone hotline to make enough money to pay off his debts so he can leave the country and realize his dream of being a photojournalist. He has a very pessimistic humour about life and is extremely critical in every situation, but we like him because of his intellect, ambition and drive.
Will, male 28-32. He is an aggressive confrontational guy from a small town who comes to the city to find work. He thinks of himself as being open minded – which is ostensibly why he left his hometown – but is frustrated in his inability to deal with the diversity of thought, culture and attitudes faced in the city. In an effort to cope with his frustrations he tries to control the things and people close to him. This control will soon begin to crumble when his girlfriend Naomi befriends Steven.

Mona: female, 23 – 27 years old, tall, with blonde hair. She is the quintessential girl`s girl, complete with a rich daddy who loves to spoil `his little princess`. Convinced she has both beauty and talented, she comes to the city to be `discovered`. She soon begins to realize that the world outside of her hometown is not what she expected as she is repeatedly rejected – both in her professional and personal life.
Betty: female, 24 – 28 years old, thin, frail. She is socially introverted face-to-face, but enjoys her work as a sex phone operator. In her free time she designs and makes her own clothes and accessories in an eclectic style that is completely her own. Betty lives with her sister – a lively, outgoing adventure seeker who loves to travel the world – a woman she both envies and admires.
Rebecca, Female, 22 – 26 years old. She is outgoing, adventurous, and outdoorsy. She just graduated from university with a BA in social sciences, after which she went on a backpacking trip to South East Asia. Her personality is in direct contrast with that of her older sister, Betty, and she has always drawn attention – both intentionally and unintentionally – away from her sister when they are together.
Terry, Male, 36 years old. He is an entrepreneur who owns a questionable business. He is very well connected in the fashion & local entertainment industry. He comes off as a bit of a shark and a con man though he presents himself as very straightforward and blunt in both his business & personal dealings.
