Defeated or retired MPs can collect a pension beginning at age 55 if they have served at least six years in the House of Commons.
前首相Martin’s annual pension is $167,051.

As an MP, Chan earned $150,800 annually. While in Government, Chan also servied as a minister of state - a position that currently boosts an MPs base by $72,200.

香港出身、Ph.D.(UBC)、3回目の挑戦でした。

面白いデータですね。
日本でも議員互助年金はかなり問題視されて、少し改正されましたからね。
ただ、よくは知らないのですが、手厚い分、掛け金もかなり大きいのも事実だとは思います。どちらにしろ一般庶民から見れば大金に見えますが。
