Effective October 25, 2012, sponsored spouses or partners must now live together in a legitimate relationship with their sponsor for two years from the day they receive permanent residence status in Canada.

If you are a spouse or partner being sponsored to come to Canada, this applies to you if:

You are being sponsored by a permanent resident or Canadian citizen
You have been in a relationship for two years or less with your sponsor
You have no children in common
Your application was received on or after October 25, 2012

これで偽装結婚が少しでも減るといいですけど。

でも、過去2年以上関係を続けていたかどうか、また、ビザ取得後2年間関係を続けていたか、はどうやって調べるのでしょう？

それに、ビザ目的でなく普通に結婚後、残念ながら2年以内に離婚してしまってた場合で、その時既にカナダで生活基盤ができていても、ビザ剥奪されるのは、少しかわいそうですね。

多分ですが、移民権取得が条件付きで、今の私たちは5年間有効なprカード、要するに5年のビザをもらっていますが、新移民は2年間の条件付きビザで、更新の際に関係が終わっていたら取り消しということだと思います。

残念ながらカナダに生活基盤ができていようと、パートナーとお別れしていたら移民権取得も取り消しなのです。

そうなった際には双方とも向こう5年間は移民申請も移民サポートもできません。

移民権欲しさに、男性と出会ってすぐ同棲を始め、だたの同棲なのにコモンロー関係とし、ファミリークラスで移民申請する人たちがこれによって減るでしょうね。

最低一年のコモンロー関係＋申請してからビザがおりるまでの数カ月＋移民権取得後さらに２年。

出会ってすぐ結婚したとしても＋申請してからビザがおりるまでの数カ月＋移民権取得後さらに２年。

それでも、どうしても移民権が欲しい人たちは、その期間耐えるのかもしれないですね。。
