Thank you for our inquiry! To answer your questions:
• CCTV camera: As with all supermarkets of our size and scope, our store has always employed a CCTV camera system to help deter shoplifting, theft, etc and help maintain a safe and comfortable environment, all with the safety and well being of our customers and staff in mind. The use of CCTV cameras has directly led to the identification and apprehension of several shoplifters and others. The use of CCTV cameras is quite commonplace these days (they are employed extensively in all larger businesses, governments, private residences) and may even be considered a necessity for a store of our size, with so many people coming and going all day long. In fact, some people might even consider it irresponsible (or negligent) for a business of our size, with so much traffic, to not have a CCTV system. Sadly, it is regrettable that one of the consequences of employing a CCTV system is that some staff may feel that they are being watched at all times.
• Private change room: Regarding the private changing area, we thank you for bringing it to our attention and since reading your post, we have reintroduced a privacy screen to provide additional privacy for our staff in our locker room. Please note that in the past, we did provide a privacy screen in the locker room for staff use but it was eventually removed as none of our staff at the time were using it. It was at that time that our Management suggested the use of our restrooms to staff who wanted more privacy. Since reading your post, however, we have decided that having a privacy screen available for staff use is a better idea and we have brought the screen back.
