Job Description:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
- Prepare specifications of article to be made
- Prepare layouts for wood articles
- Set up and operate saws and other woodworking machines to cut shape and form parts
- Machine components for cabinets, furniture and other items
- Laminate cabinet and furniture components
- Cut glass and mirrors for furniture and cabinets
- Assemble millwork products such as stairs
- Install cabinets and custom woodworking at job sites
- Repair and refinish furniture and cabinets, fixtures and related products
- Estimate amount, type and cost of materials required
- Train other employees and transfer special skills and knowledge to them
Qualification:
- Completion of high school
- At least 10 years related experience
- Extensive knowledge and skills of Japanese traditional furniture design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Fluency in Japanese
- Ability to complete a custom furniture from raw lumber to finish ready
- Lifting up to 45 kg (100 lbs.)
- Highly accurate with dimensions
Wage:
$19.5-$27/Hourly (Based on experience) + Medical benefit
Note:
- Full Time (40 hours/week), Permanent position
- This position requires extensive knowledge and skills of authentic Japanese furniture making such as Sashimono Minegei, Kumiko Zaiku
