We are looking for a full-time server with experience working in Japanese izakaya restaurants to join the team at “Kuma”, a new Japanese comfort food restaurant opening in Tofino, BC in January 2015.
The server will be responsible for friendly service (including taking take-out orders), front of house opening and closing duties, and preparing cocktails. Applicant must work well with other people in a small team environment, eager to interact with customers, and be willing to take on some administrative tasks including cash management and daily cash-outs. The server will report to the general manager. The position is full-time and will be paying competitive wage.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of serving experience in a Japanese restaurant, preferably an izakaya.
Experience with restaurant administrative tasks is an asset.
Serving It Right Certificate required.
Must be at least 19 years old.
English proficiency.
Willingness to live in Tofino, BC.
Have working status to work in Canada for a minimum of 9-months.
Start Date: January 15, 2015 for training
