We are looking for a full-time cook with experience working in Japanese izakaya restaurants to join the team at “Kuma”, a new Japanese comfort food restaurant opening in Tofino, BC in January 2015.
Applicant should have experience as a cook in an izakaya setting and have a love for quality food and service. The position is full-time and will be paying competitive wage. Applicant must work well with other people in a small team environment, be willing to serve take-out orders as necessary and interact with customers, and have a high standard of cleanliness, food quality, and personal hygiene. The cook will prepare and cook menu items, may assist the head chef in menu development and creation of daily specials, and will report to the head chef.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of kitchen experience in a Japanese restaurant, preferably an izakaya.
Foodsafe certificate an asset.
English proficiency.
Willingness to live in Tofino, BC.
Have working status to work in Canada for a minimum of 9-months
