We are seeking an experienced and organized full-time Japanese Database administrator with database management skills to join our Vancouver based IT Team. You must be fluent in written and verbal Japanese and English.

The main responsibilities will include:

• Data processing using MySQL, MS SQL, MS Access, Excel and Dbase
• Management of an MySQL and MS SQL database and development of storage procedures

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• A Degree or Technical Diploma in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering, computer technology with a minimum of 2 years experience
• Fluency in Japanese (native level)
• Oral and written communications skills in English
• Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasting skills.
• A Self starter with excellent problem solving and analytical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast paced environment.

The following skills/experience would be strong assets:

• Experience in MS SQL or MySQL and database programming
• Programming skills in HTML, PHP, XML, Scripting, especially in reporting systems
• Database security management, performance tuning and monitoring, code migration and data management
• Linux/Unix
• PCI compliance related projects
