Dog Sled Guide - Japanese speaking

Seasonal employment from Nov 2012 to March 2013. Requires shift work.
Responsible for all aspects of guiding groups on outdoor winter dog sledding trips (day or overnight/multi-day). Duties include but are not limited to:
• Assemble camping gear and supplies
• Advise on safety and regulations
• Plan trips
• Prepare meals
• Set up and take down camps
• Practice low impact/no trace land use
• Provide outdoor, wilderness and wildlife instruction
• Translate complex safety instructions into Japanese
• Handle complaints
• Operate off-road vehicles
• Operate photographic and video equipment
• Operate communication (including emergency) devices
• Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
• Maintain equipment
• Handle and care for Husky dogs
Must have valid First Aid, CPR and driver's license; equivalent of Yukon Class IV license preferred.
Language skills in English and Japanese are necessary.
Room and board included on site. Property is 30 mins outside Whitehorse.
