If your employer wants to pay you less than 9.50 per hour, it is NOT legal. The minimum wage has changed to 9.50 from November 1s and the minimum you should get paid is 9.50 per hour for every hour you work.
Also please be informed that if your employer schedules you to work on a Statutory holiday (like remembrance day, Christmas, boxing day,...), they should pay you 1.5 (one and half) times your regular pay. So if your regular pay is 9.50 per hour and your employer schedules you to work on a Statutory holiday, you should get paid $ 14.75 per hour. It is the employment law. Don’t let employers take advantage of you.
