Business Process Improvement Consultant
by LSI from バンクーバー 2011/07/19 02:47:26

Position: Business Consultant, specializing in process improvement or kaizen projects

Lean Sensei International - considered by many companies across the country as an organization that delivers the “purest form of lean manufacturing” - is the only company in North America which specializes in implementing lean manufacturing philosophies strictly through coaching. Lean Sensei International provides lean manufacturing consulting service by acting as a “sensei” (“coach” in Japanese) on a long-term basis to provide relentless, unbiased assistance as if it was an extension of a company. It is also one of the very few companies in North America to have a true lean implementation experience directly from Japan.

Lean Sensei International believes that every organization can attain world-class status through teamwork, dedication, and commitment. Its founder and President, David (Ko) Chao, is an internationally recognized Lean Specialist who was born and raised in Japan, and worked for a number of Japanese companies. Mr. Chao is often a speaker at major lean conferences around the world.

Because of strong growth and demand for coaching assignments and lean projects throughout North America, Lean Sensei is now hiring a full-time Lean Consultant. Reporting directly to the president and senior manager, this person will work closely with Mr. Chao and other associates to bring value and dedicated coaching to all of the clients located throughout Canada and the US. About 50% of lean assignments take place locally in Vancouver, but Lean Sensei coaches also have opportunities to travel across the country and even to the US, Asia and Europe on different assignments.

In addition, unique opportunities await those who join the organization (depending on qualifications):

• Be part of an exciting, growing business that are becoming truly international
• A chance to visit Toyota, Honda and other companies in Japan
• Learn first hand about lean from David Chao, who has extensive experience from Japan and Japanese manufacturing firms
• A chance to become a true lean expert and a coach
• Opportunity to network with many other lean specialists

You don’t often get a chance to join a growing company, and Lean Sensei will provide interesting and challenging opportunities ahead. We have an opening for both an entry level and a more senior level Lean Consultant. We have a strong preference for candidates with a second language capability, and for those people who have manufacturing experience from Asian companies.

Qualifications:

• Willing to travel (no more than 50% of the time)
• Solid educational background (operations or manufacturing related); college degree required
• 3 to 5 years operations/manufacturing work experience (in production engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or supply chain preferred)
• Good understanding of basic lean principles
o 5S
o Kaizen
o Kanban
o Poka Yoke
o Setup Reduction
o One Piece Flow
o etc
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office products (in particular, powerpoint)
• Comfortable speaking in front of people doing workshops or speeches
• Truly believe in working as a team member
• Outgoing and service-oriented
• Must have excellent references
• Strong preference will be given to those who speak a second language in addition to English
• Strong preference will be given to those who have working experience from a Japanese company or suppliers to Japanese companies
• You must be able to travel to the US

An applicant do not have to have any consulting or coaching experience, but must possess skillset and/or personality that support the whole concept of coaching.
