Terms of Employment: Temporary, Full Time, Day and some evenings
Salary: $10.00 Hourly for 35 hours per week
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Burnaby, BC (1 vacancy)

Skill Requirements: GVJCCA is seeking a student returning to full time studies in the fall for a position that will utilize your excellent web and database skills and your organization skills as you design and implement easy-to-use system for making our digital archives available to the public

Capable of taking leadership as well as working collaboratively on a variety of projects that would include:
-acquiring from private services those records which complement the holdings of records for archives
-preparation and implementation procedures for assessing and storing of current and historical records
-creating and managing database of records in accordance with acceptable archiving practice
-preparing schedules for the retention and disposition of recordings ensuring compliance with current statutory requirements
-translation of some materials may be required

Communicative, flexible, highly organized, responsible, reliable
Ability to work with people of various ages
Able and willing to lift 50 lbs

Education: Some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training, Some university

Computer Science/ Information Management/ Information Technology/ Technology Major

Experience:
• Experience creating databases
• Experience creating and updating websites
• Previously employed

Languages: Ability to communicate in English (reading, writing, speaking)
Japanese language skills preferred

Business Equipment and Computer Applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Database, Website design, able to work in a Mac environment
