Bilingual Japanese English speaking Administrative/Event Executive Assistant

Due to our growing client base and the success of our programs, we have an immediate opening for a full-time Administrative/Event Executive Assistant. The ideal candidate will have work experience in a consulting or event planning sector. Fluency in written as well as spoken English and Japanese speaking ability is necessary. A solid working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint is a requirement. We are looking for an outgoing, customer-oriented individual who enjoys planning corporate events, networking with clients, and managing seminars and workshops both locally and in international locations.

Your primary tasks will be to provide administrative and workshop/seminar support. Your responsibilities will include:
- assisting the company president with daily administrative tasks and details
- assisting with the setup and preparation of conferences, seminars and meetings
- corresponding with corporate clients and vendors in both English and Japanese
- working with hotels, restaurants and venue sites to plan conferences
- general marketing support during the sessions
- some client management
- assisting instructors and coaches in administrative tasks
- some development of workshop content and materials in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
Compensation will be based on your work experience and qualifications.
Most of our workshop sessions are conducted in English but Japanese will be used when conducting projects in Japan or corresponding with Japanese companies. Candidates with outstanding work experience in the business consulting industry, fluency in both Japanese and English, good written and verbal communication skills and a solid competency in Word, Powerpoint, Excel will be given priority.

Position: Full Time Administrative/Event Executive Assistant
Requirements: Bilingual (Japanese and English); being able to speak, write and read English and Japanese fluently is essential
Education: University or College Degree
Experience: Three to Five or more years of administrative experience, including specific experience as an event planner or admin assistant, ideally in a consulting or event planning industry.
Status in Canada: Permanent Resident of Canada is required.
Having a driver’s license is preferred.
Compensation
- Compensation will depend on your qualifications, but the salary range is from $36,000 to $40,000 per year based on your work experience.

Training
- will be on-the-job training, regardless of the position where we feel you might fit best, within our company
- training during our sessions and conferences is typically held in hotels and conference centers in downtown Vancouver or at corporate locations throughout the Lower Mainland

Travel
- Some travel will be required (about 10 to 20% of time, depending on the qualifications). Travels include US, within Canada, Asia and Europe.
