I mean 100% of the time I will speak only English and you will speak 100% Japanese. No switching back and forth.

I won’t be able to understand 90% of the things you say but I want to try. Maybe after a long time I will understand more.

The only way this will work is if we are doing an activity, such as walking, eating, drinking, going to the beach, playing a sport, hiking, going to the park... I don’t think it will work on skype or on phone because I don’t want for you to speak English, only in Japanese. but for sure, 100% of time I will speak English. I want to work on my Japanese understanding and listening first. This will take me at least a year so don’t hope that I will start speaking Japanese anytime soon. After 1 year if we are still friends, I will go to Japan and visit you.
