I get to speak English at work on a daily basis, but I want to find some opportunities to practice my English skills outside of work as well.

Your English sounds fine, and if you live in Vancouver (or any English speaking environment) your English will only get better because you have to use it all the time. I think language exchange would be a waste of your time unless you’re just looking for friendship.

If you replace "English" with "Japanese" in the passage above, I would have taken it as the work of an English speaker.
