レス３さん！ Cat-loverは間違えですよ！ Catとloverの間に「-」は入らないでしょ！ 「-」はだんだんと使わられなくなってきてるのよ！ まあイギリス英語は北米英語よりも「-」を使うけどね。

It mostly depends on how you like cats. It sounds like the way you like cats is supposed to be expressed in a way that you love cats so badly. So I would say "I’m obsessed with cats". You can use different pattern based on the previous sentence, like saying " I have an obsession with cats". I’m not 100 percent sure if those sentences are accurate because I just made up those sentences from my own perception. You’ll hopefully find some clues in how to describe your feeling in cats from the examples above. Good luck.

OK, this sentence even sounds strange in Japanese.
but I think the best thing to say is "I’m a cat lover"
I guess you can use the term "CAT FREAK" but the term freak is more for things like games and sports.
EG "Im a game FREAK" or "James is a hockey FREAK"
自分で自分の事を"CAT FREAK"って言うのも少し不自然です。
でも他の人があなたの事を"CAT FREAKって言う方が解りやすいかも。
EG: Amy : Jiji loves cats so much, she picked up 6 strays and decided to keep them all and wants more!
Ben: Yeah, I can see that, she’s a CAT FREAK!
Cat Lady? ummm NO!

obsessは夢中というより(時に異常なほどの）固執ですから、人に使う場合とてもnegativeな印象になります。 要するにストーカーなんかはobsessed with 〜さん という表現です。 恋して夢中になっているのならmadly/crazy in love かそういう表現のほうが合っているかと思います。

ニュアンス的に
cat lady = ネコおばさん（年寄りで一生独身で複数のネコと暮らしているイメージ）
cat freak = ネコマニア
cat maniac = （ネコマニアより強迫的な感じ）
cat geek = ネコオタク
cat-obsessed (もしくはobsessed with cats) = 一番ストレートな言い方

obsessed may have a neg. effect depending on how it’s used.
Yes, IF its for a person, NOT good, (like someone said here)
almost like stalking, but IF it’s for a THING...
EG Sally is obsessed with shopping, we should invite her!
In that case it doesnt sound too neg.
Eg. Jiji is obsessed with cats! She has 4
As long as the people you are talking know Jiji firsthand.
I guess you can just say I love cats.
Or I REALYEEEEE like cats and stress the REEEEELY part, then they will get the point.:)
