As the title suggests, I’m looking for a Japanese speaking person to help me study for the Japanese Proficiency Test as well as someone who can help me improve my Japanese conversation skills.
It’d be a bonus to find someone who has a background in teaching languages (English or Japanese) but it’s certainly not essential.
In return, I would gladly offer you English tutoring services for whatever your needs are.
background
----------
I should also point out that I’m university educated, TESL certified and have been teaching for almost a decade. I’m familiar with many of the 2nd language challenges facing Japanese students due to my experience with Japanese students both in Canada and in Japan.
I’ve taught at all levels and many specific skills courses to age groups of all kinds. I’m currently employed as an instructor at PLI. I’m comfortable with and knowledgeable about Japanese culture due to the 3 years I spent living in Japan. I would classify my current abilities as lower-intermediate to intermediate depending on the skill in question.
Ethnically, I’m Chinese Canadian but I have a Canadian accent so don’t worry, you won’t be speaking or listening to English in 7 different tones! Though if you speak any Cantonese, I’ll be happy to speak to you in that language as well.
If you’re interested and keen, please contact me as soon as possible to arrange a meeting at your convenience.
Thanks!
