When they are playing well, Team A is so strong that one could say they are the best in the world. On the other hand, Team B looks as though they could only beat domestic club teams, or weaker foreign clubs.

I may be blind, but I don’t see the grammatical error
you’re referring to. It sounds pretty natural to me.

A "team" is considered singular but when you use the
pronoun "they" for the team, which is a common practice,
the verb that follows takes a plural form.

For example;
That team is great during the regular season, but they suck
when it comes to playoffs!

Is this the error you are referring to, or something else?

I agree with Bovine Hat.

For example:

The Vancouver Canucks are a pretty good team, but they can’t seem to get very far in the playoffs.

That’s a normal Canadian sentence.

On the other hand:

The Vancouver Canucks are a pretty good team, but it can’t seem to get very far in the playoffs.

That sounds weird. It’s probably not wrong, per se, but it definitely isn’t normal Canadian.
