本を読んでいたらこの表現が出てきました

何かに集中する、というような表現かとは思うのですが・・
わかる方いらっしゃいましたら教えて下さい。

i dont know what the context is but this is a hard one to explain.

"Detach my mind at will" could mean

Jibunn de jibunn no nou (omotte irukoto)wo CONTROL
dekiru. Itu demo ooteiru koto wo sugu ni kireru (STOP)

EG: Eriko ha TOM no koto ga sugoku muchiyu dakedo, kanojyo ha
"I can detach my mind at will" tte itte imasu.

I need to know in what context (situation) it is used in to explain this to you more clearly, but I hope you got the jist

at will　意のままに
(何かを)やりたい、とかやりたくない、とかいう感情を自分の意のままに断ち切るって感じですかね。
