Some say minimum is a noun and minimal is an adjective,
but minimum is also used as an adjective in many cases.
What’s the difference between minimum, as an adjective,
and minimal?

Minimal = Small amount
Minimum = Smallest
by my Canadian husband.

minimal = barely adequate, very slight
minimum = the least

That hotel only has minimal amenities.
とか言う場合は、barely adequate のようにある意味で
肯定的で「最小限必要な」的な意味は分かるんですが、
数値的な「最小限」の意味で、例えば特許などで
minimal valve pressure と minimum valve pressure
の違いは厳密にあるんでしょうか?
