Providing energy; otherwise supporting metabolic processes, some of them are indispensable for the body due to the fact that it cannot manufacture by itself, and so they must be obtained from a food source.
Proteins; considered as soluble, complex and high molecular weight organic compounds; consisting of carbon 50%, hydrogen 7%, nitrogen 15%, and oxygen 25% in the ratio of gravity; having molecular masses of up to 3,000,000; are composed of amino acids joined by peptide bonds, and are crucial to the structures and functions of all living cells and viruses.
Making the body consume or store energy, these foods make the brain and muscle active and provide one with heat; energy produced from carbohydrates is used for short and hard exercise while energy produced from fats is used for mild exercise a long time, and moreover carbohydrates require less water to be digested than fats or proteins do.
