ちなみに私は、カナダ人に Your english is good. と言われたら、thank you. と言うと思います。でも、英会話の教師でもない限り、普通のカナダ人って、そういう事を言う人は滅多にいませんよね。英語で話をしているのに、そう言われたら、何だか変てこな会話になっちゃいます。ESLの教師以外には、いまだかつて言われたことありません。
もし英語が母国語でない人に言われたら、その人の英語力は私の英語力よりもはるかに高いという前提で言っていると思うので、Not really, but thank you. と言いますかね。

I think English is just one of tools for our communitation as same as the other languages. It’s good to know more than one.
And it’s not necessary to speak fast like the native speakers before we master it. I usually speak and response pretty slow why I’d like to know the correct grammer and pronounciations.
I recommend to go to the non-Japanese websaites which have much richer English chatting and the articels than this website. Once you turn your brain swith on, you must want to talk in English all the time. Good luck!
