if you’re trying to be polite, you should just say ’I had to "go" on the beach." 　

#1 is correct. Everything else is too much. Sounds like something homeless people would say.

I don’t agree. If you said "I went to the bathroom outside," people would assume you went to an actual bathroom that’s outside or one of those portable potties.
