It is important to know the differences between a teacher, a tutor and a facilitator. A teacher teaches a specific subject with select material. The student is expected to study the material and is later tested on what they have learned. A tutor helps a student study what a teacher teaches. A facilitator is something quite different. A facilitator finds out what the client’s goals are and then works with the client to establish a curriculum that will help the client reach their goals as quickly and effectively as possible.
