I recently watched a newscaster saying on TV that the average family income in BC is $65,000. I don’t know if it is a gross average or net. He didn’t mention any sources so I don’t know how reliable it is. The average income in BC has been boosted up in the past 2, 3 years, so it should be a little higher than what Res.7-san is saying. Generally speaking, the average income of an immigrant family is lower than the domestic average. But it doesn’t necessary mean that your family’s financial condition is poorer than others. You, as a wise Japanese wife, must have a good sense to save money for your family ^^
If you are worried that you may be asked to pay a big provincial income tax for 2007, you can always ask your company or your husband’s company to detect extra taxes from your or his monthly pay cheque.
You have such a good knowledge of Canadian financial and taxation systems considering the length of your life in Canada. You’ll do fine, don’t worry ^^

Statistic Canada Median Total Income by Family, by Provinceでは、2005年のMedianは$60,600になってますね。共働きでも、シングルインカムでも6万ドルあれば普通って感じですね。ちなみに私は年収$50k今年やっと越えた!
