According to section 38 of the RTA, my security deposit and of $700 is to be returned within 15 days after you have received my forwarding
address in writing and my tenancy has officially ended. This amount also includes any interest that has accumulated on the initial deposit. I calculated this amount using the Residential Tenancy Branch’s (RTB) Deposit Interest Calculator, which can be accessed at

ってあるけど実際はforwarding address なんて家出る前に知らせることが多いでしょ?そうなったら結局家出てから15日以内ってことになるんじゃない?

Your landlord must provide you with a copy of the move-out condition inspection report within 15 days after the tenancy has ended or within 15 days after receiving your forwarding address (whichever event is later).
