My wife and I both work. We toyed with the idea of getting a nanny but don’t have enough information to make a good decision. I lived in Japan for 10 years with my wife and our child was born there. We are always looking for ways to keep his Japanese level up.

Does anyone have any advice about nannies? Are there Japanese Nannies? Is it expensive . . . . . help.

I believe that you should look into the programme called
"Live-in Caregiver". That’s for nannies who want to find
caregiver jobs with housing accomodations along side.
It actually gives them chance for immigration after
2 years of service.
There should be some agency out there in your local area.
I am sorry..I don’t have any specific info.
We occasionally see some Jps potential caregivers asking
about any sponsoring/hiring families at this site.
Good thing about the programme is that applicants must be
qualified for it, so you can have some countability/security there.
Well, you can also try Working-holiday people. They have
to leave after a year, though. And they may not necessary
have much experience of taking care of/educating(japanese)
children.
