I know that you are well-meaning, but for some reason the only information you give about yourself, other than that you're a 28 year old Canadian man, is a negative: that you don't have many friends.

Anything is better than saying this. What is your work, what you studied in school, your favorite sports team or favorite pet, or heck: your FIRST NAME.

And then there is the bit about e-mail. You don't have (m)any friends and you just want to exchange e-mails? Why? Are you quarantined due to an infectious disease or something?

You should read your posting again, with a more objective eye. Think about it: "I don't have many friends" is exactly the sort of thing that someone who has NO friends is likely to say.
