Police ask for public’s help in finding sex assault suspect
by 無回答 from バンクーバー 2009/09/03 18:17:06

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Vancouver Police believe they have now linked one man to three recent sexual assaults and a stalking case in downtown Vancouver in July and August. Investigators are releasing a composite sketch of the suspect and asking for the public’s assistance to help identify the man.

On July 30th and 31st a woman walking in the area of Cardero Street and Nelson Street was approached from behind by a man who sexually assaulted her. In both cases the man walked or ran away after the assault.

On August 29th at approximately 4:30 p.m. a woman says she was walking in the area of Robson Street at Cardero Street when she thought that a man appeared to be following her. The man continued to follow her for approximately 40 minutes causing her to fear for her safety. She managed to enter an apartment building to evade the man.

Later that night a woman walking on Alberni Street was grabbed by a man who approached her from behind. When the woman confronted the man, he tried to explain his actions before walking away.
Police say all four incidents appear to be linked to one suspect and have reached a point in the investigation where the public’s assistance may be instrumental in identifying and locating the suspect. He is described as a dark-skinned male, between 5’7" and 5’9" in height, with a medium-muscular build, and black curly hair. In the August 29th incidents, the man was wearing a dark baseball hat, an athletic top, basketball shorts, and runners.

Police are asking anyone who may have information that might assist in their investigation to contact the Vancouver Police Sex Crimes Unit at 604-717-3473 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

ダウンタウンで同じ男がかかわっていると見られるレイプ、ストーキング事件が起きたらしい。夜の一人歩きは危ないので控えた方がよさそうだよ。
