防犯のためにペッパースプレーか防犯ベルを購入したいのですが、どこで手に入るのでしょうか？

クマ用のペッパースプレーなら、mountain equipment coop で
買いましたけど、悪用しないように！？か、ＩＤがいりました。 　

↑そう、IDが必要です。
ちなみにペッパースプレーは、動物にのみ使用可で、人間に対して使うと犯罪になりますので気をつけてください。

護身用に携帯しようかと考えていたのですが… 　

ここがグレーなところですが、護身用（防犯）に携帯するのであればダメです。熊がおそってきたときのために携帯するのであればＯＫです。たとえば職場も家もダウンタウンとかいうのであれば、説得力はないでしょうが、これがノースバンクーバーに住んでいる、というのであればなんとか説得できるかもしれませんね。

なるほど。クマ用にたまたま携帯していた物で護身した、という場合は説得できるという感じですか。

クマの出る地域にいたことがあるので、所持はしていますが使ったことはありません。クマ用ですもん、強いですよね…
使用するか否かはもう少し検討して決めたいと思います。

ペッパースプレーは武器扱いですから、どなかたもおっしゃっているように、最初から「人間相手の護身用」のつもりで携帯するのは違法です。あくまでも、クマなどの動物相手の護身用としてです。

考えてみてください。それが許されるなら、その辺にうろうろしている犯罪者やレイプ犯だって「護身用です」といって合法的にポケットにペッパースプレーを隠し持つことが許されることになります。

銃と同じで（もちろん厳しさの度合いは全く違いますが）、たとえ狩猟用の銃でも、人間に使えば完全な犯罪ですよね。

ですから上の方がおっしゃっているように、クマの出る地域でハイキングに行くときに携帯していても問題ないですが、動物など出ないような街中でハンドバッグに忍ばせたりなんかしたら、強盗目的で武器を所持していると解釈される可能性がとても高いです。

「人間に襲われた時のための護身用」の所持を許してしまうと、弱い立場の人だけでなく、悪用する側にも所持を許すということとイコールになることを考えてみてください。 　

カナダは正当防衛を証明するの大変ですよ〜。
自分は銃を合法に持っていますが、家にナイフを持った強盗が
入ったとしますねそれを銃で撃つと過剰防衛で罪となります。
相手が銃を持っていて、家族を人質に取った・・・くらいのケースなら
法廷で戦えばなんとか罪は免れるかもしれませんが、その為には
弁護士費用とめちゃくちゃ長い時間が掛かり、たぶん銃は没収され
取り返すのは大変なことになるかと思います。

だから、ベアスプレーを悪い奴に使っても過剰防衛、スタンガンは一般市民は持てない、特種警棒もダメ、ヌンチャクも実は持ち歩いたら
違法です。結局一般市民は何か起こったら警察に通報して、余計な
ことすんな・・・って見解なのでしょうが、それじゃあ遅すぎる
場合が殆どですよね。

前にカムループスで自宅に入った強盗をナイフで刺した80歳の
おじいちゃんがやはり過剰防衛で逮捕されてました。線引きは難しいと
思いますが、もうちょっとなんとかならないの？って感じますが。 　

過剰防衛でも持てないより余程まし。自分の妻子が襲われそうになったら過剰防衛だろうが何だろうが手段があるだけ助かるよ、その後の法廷闘争まで考えて引き金引くのを躊躇うのは余裕があるんでしょ。妻子が助かるなら自分が刑務所行こうが全く構わんよ。

先日の夜、帰り道につけられたので（うまく走って逃げて無事でしたが）自分を守るために何かいい方法はないかと考えたのですが。。。 　

防犯ベルレベルが現実的ですよね。

あと言われたのはベルでひるまなかったら、鍵の柄（？）を手のひらに握り鍵の突き出ている部分を人差し指と中指の間から出し、相手にめがけて拳を突き出すといいと言われました。

また相手がナイフなどを持っている場合は刺されそうな時にジャケットなどの布を両手に持ち、手を突き出す形で布と自分の間に空間を作るといいそうです。　そのまま相手のナイフをくるむこともできるし、直接刺されなくなるので、ほんの少しの時間ですが、逃げる時間が出来るそうです。

If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it . As soon as the car crashes bail out and run.

It is better than having them find your body in a remote location.

5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot,
or parking garage:

A.) Be aware:look around you,look into your car, at the passenger side floor , and in the back seat

B.) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims
by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.

C.) Look at the car parked on the driver’s side of your vehicle, and the passenger side.. If a male is sitting alone
in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk backinto the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out.

IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)

6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs.
(Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot. This is especially true at NIGHT!)

7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control,
ALWAYS RUN!
The predator will only hit you (a running target)
4 in 100 times; And even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ.

RUN, Preferably in a zig -zag pattern!

8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic:

It may get you raped, or killed.
Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women.
He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked "for help" into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.

9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird. The police told her "Whatever you do, DO NOT
open the door."

The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over.

The policeman said, "We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door."

He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby’s cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby’s cries outside their doors when they’re home alone at night.
