...police are also looking for the victim of the latest attack which occurred last Sunday at East 33rd Avenue and Victoria Street around 2 a.m.
"People on a bus noticed a girl at the bus shelter being attacked by a man," said Chow. "Witnesses saw him throw her against the bus shelter."
Fortunately the woman managed to escape, but hasn’t reported the incident to police.
"We’re asking for the victim to step forward and contact police," said Chow. "We believe it was a related purse snatching, but we don’t have a victim to talk to."
In the past, Asian women were targeted by thieves because of a perception immigrants are less likely to report crimes.
Tung Chan, the CEO of SUCCESS, says that needs to stop.
"There are parts of the world where people view police with a different set of eyes," he said. "I would tell this woman to come forward. Without the victim, people can’t prosecute this guy and there could be more victims."
